Princess Lullaby

In this painting I seeked to portray the beauty of innocence within a child. This painting was inspired by my 10 year old niece who enjoys gymnactics and playing the violin. Many times we become overwhelmed by the worries of everyday life. We must take a second and learn to live free.

Today was fun.
Tomorrow is another one.”

As a painter I am a strong believer that the true beauty of art is based on the artists honesty within the piece. We live in a society where we are surrounded by opinions and constantly thought to distinguish right from wrong based on someone else's guidelines. I am an emotion triggered artist and when I came across this quote it hit home. It's not about the multitude but rather the individual that softly speaks to me and thanks me for creating a piece that helped put words to an emotion they could never explain.

“I think the unity of a painter’s work arises from the fact that a person, brought to a desperate situation, will behave in a certain way. That’s what real style is: it’s not donning a mantle or having a program, it’s how one behaves in a crisis.”

Coral

Abstract with mixed media 48"x24"
Many times we try so hard to makes things perfect because we feel it is the only way to be happy. I painted with no direction because I want you to see that trying so hard to attain perfection only takes us further from understanding that imperfection is happiness. Take a moment to see where you stand. Are you are flowing with life or standing still watching happiness pass you by?

One Individual

Abstract Impressionism
Distinct personalities within one individual
Canvas #1: The top layer we show to the world, zero problems and carefree
Canvas #2: The fusion of the two into one
Canvas #3: The inner emotions and thoughts taking over

As humans we tend to pretend everything is okay. The reality is there is no such thing as a perfect life. Despite the wonders we may face, the struggles don't stay to far behind. These pieces were made to portray the fusion of inner and outer emotions. The truth many keep silent.

Temptations

This is an illustration of how when we seek greater things there is always a current attempting to pull us in the opposite direction. We live in a world of opposition. The moment society sees us doing something right and exceeding it's expectations, they all tremble. The world encourages greatness but the selfish fear those who dare to be different and set new limits!

Self-realizations

This painting portrays mixed emotions. Many times we feel completely caged in but there is always something better awaiting. Everything happens for a reason. How could we ever appreciate freedom if we never knew what it was like to be trapped? Good is nothing without bad.

Imperfection is Beauty

We live in a society where we as individuals are molded to believe whats beauty and whats not. This piece is to emphasize that beauty goes further than we are accustomed to believe. Don't blend! The birds blend in showing how todays idea of beauty is causing everyone to become replicas of each other.

Sahar

Dawn, Morning, Awakening
Many times we feel as tiny as a grain of sand. If only we took the time to realize that a desert wouldn't be a desert without every grain. We all have a purpose and life is about the journey. The journey to seek greater things and new beginnings.

Conquest

Conquer your fears before they conquer you.
Many times it can all be solved with a simple say but instead we sit and watch as our fears consume us. In this piece the ocean and sea creatures are taking over the towns above the pillars. It's never to late to straighten your pillar and stand firm by what you believe.

Liberation

The men in black suits are being possessed by the vines symbolizing the fears we carry that tie us down and keep us from reaching beyond the limits we believe exist. The man in the center is grabbing all the vines and has them under his control. He symbolizes the individuals who gather the strength to conquer their fears and set their imagination free!

Serenity in the midst of Chaos

The butterflies hatching out of the meteors symbolize that theres always something good to come out of bad wether it's an experience, a lesson learned... God doesn't give us anything we can't handle. When we think of meteor showers we imagine fear, desperation, anxiety but when we see butterflies we smile, feel joy and tranquility. Many times we see the problems as meteors and grow impatient. The moment we assume we won't make it God brings us out and the butterflies hatch out symbolizing the strength and courage we gain from our pain and struggle.

Woman's Work

As I painted this piece I found myself constantly attempting to portray collision. I wanted to show two sides in one. My final product was a woman half robot & half human. The robotic side symbolizes a womans perfection, motherly instinct and the constant way of making sure things are the way they're supposed to be. The other half symbolizes the tender, free spirit, caring emotions within a woman. This is a piece to the strong woman who work hard to maintain stable households, steady jobs etc. and still manage to bring the love, care and joy as one.

Illusion of a Dream

When I was painting this piece I was at a point in life where I had to make drastic decisions as to where my next step would be. In the midst of the pressure, fear & confusion I finally understood. This was when I created this painting demonstrating that in order to reach the direction we are meant to take, we must walk through a forest, seek the light on the other side in order to fly free and live the life were meant to live.
